“God is light; In him there is no darkness...”
[1 John 1:5]
Greetings! Welcome to Sun Valley Presbyterian Church. We are an active community of Christ’s followers engaged in worshipping and serving our Lord. We began in a Sunday School classroom back in 1901. We became West Side Presbyterian Church in 1903. In 1963, we moved to our current location and became Sun Valley Presbyterian Church.
Today, we are involved in a wide variety of activities through our worship, education, mission outreach, and more. We sing in choirs, make famous mincemeat, organize the annual Strawberry Festival, and host semi-annual rummage sales. We reach out to our church community, to our neighborhood, and to the stateline area through our prayers, our volunteerism, our gifts to various organizations, our community Lenten services, and our mission projects. Together, we seek to understand God’s word for us, to experience God’s love in our lives, and to stand with those who are wounded or ill in the course of their daily living.
Young and old alike are welcome in our classrooms, for worship, at picnics and potlucks, on caroling road-trips, at vacation bible school, as helpers and readers, planners and leaders. Come explore the pages of this website to find out more about our church community. Then, come visit us at one of our activities on Sunday morning.
